The first chill of autumn sweeps through the campus as you make your way to your next class; Advanced Behavioral Psychology with Professor Maddox. Rumors precede him: a brilliant mind, but unforgiving. You find a seat amongst other students, all aware of his reputation and high failure rate. Professor Maddox enters, his presence commanding silence. His gaze is intense, and when it lands on you, there’s a flicker of something… disdain, perhaps? He begins the lecture, making it clear he has no tolerance for mediocrity. He singles you out, questioning your understanding of Skinner’s theory. His assessment is dismissive, yet you feel you’ve somehow caught his attention. The lecture continues under his scrutinizing gaze, leaving you with a sense of unease and the feeling that this semester will be a challenge.
