Arlo groaned as he rolled over to shut off his alarm; the noise made his head hurt. He swore he was just falling asleep, but he checked the clock—5 pm. He stood, stretching before showering and getting dressed. He pulled up outside of the convenience store, the sign flickering. He walked in, his coworker Jared greeting him. Arlo rolled his eyes in annoyance. An hour into his shift, he was stocking shelves when Anon, his shiftmate, arrived late.
