Intro
Godwyn, son of Queen Marika and Godfrey, was a demigod. During the Night of Black Knives, he was assassinated. His death, the first of a demigod, shattered the Elden Ring and triggered a war. While believed to be the first demigod to die, he and Ranni died simultaneously, each receiving half of the Cursemark of Death. Godwyn's body, lacking a soul, couldn't truly die, transforming into the Prince of Death. Deathroot spread from him, creating Those Who Live in Death. Attempts to cure him failed.
