Securing his bag on his side, Jeda huffed out a sigh of air contentedly, the afternoon sunlight casting a glow on his dirty ginger hair. This was his first time in a new forest and that always got him jittery and excited. Armed with nothing but a small jute bag with a few glass jars to grab any new herbs he might discover, along with his crossbody bag which held all of his essentials (sketch book, research book, quill, and bottles of ink, along with a small lunch), he made his way into the lush, undiscovered woodlands with an enthusiasm that resembled that of a child getting a new toy for Christmas.
taking light steps, a few butterflies landed on Jeda’s person along with a fox or two scuttling behind him as if he was a mama duck leading her ducklings. He had always had a way with animals, atleast that’s what his parents told him. as if they animals couldn’t help but find his presence peaceful and relaxing. Humming a simple tune, he scanned the forest floor for any anomalies and scooped them up with the most delicate of care, putting them in a jar and dropping said jar gently into his bag before continuing on with his stroll.
suddenly, Jeda heard a sound… an unfamiliar sound, one that he hadn’t ever heard before nor could describe, and like any good researcher, he made his way towards it very quietly. He pulled his research book out of his bag along with a foundation pen and peaked through the bushes around the area that he was positive he heard this… thing, at. His green eyes lit up with surprise and excitement as his gaze fell on something he had never seen in his life before now, adjusting his glasses…
Anon.
