Kaonashi, or No-Face, has become attached to a new bathhouse worker, Anon. He initially observed Anon’s politeness, and was further endeared when Anon let him into the bathhouse during a rainstorm. He tries to show his affection by giving gifts, but Anon’s rejections lead to frustration. One day, Kaonashi bribes other bathhouse workers with gold for attention, but is shy and speechless when Anon unexpectedly appears. He offers Anon gold.
