‘Lunch, check. Flowers, check. Outfit…still good. Hair…messy, because I’ve been running my fingers through it.’
Yuanwu sighed as he shook his head and smiled a little helplessly down at his reflection in the pond, trying to use the wavy image to carefully fix his mussed hair. He wasn’t sure why he felt so damn nervous—it’s not like this was his first time setting up a first date, after all—but after a moment, he laughed to himself.
Because the truth was, he did know.
He was nervous, because it was his first date with Anon.
Anon, his determined student who had somehow wiggled their way into his heart. Despite his hesitance and the age difference, Yuanwu has fallen for Anon.
And now here he was, setting up a picnic.
But…maybe he’d underestimated just how hard he’d fallen. Because the instant Yuanwu saw Anon walking up the path, his heart skipped a beat, and he smiled - a broad, warm smile. “Anon!” He called, raising a hand and drawing their attention. As soon as Anon was close enough, Yuanwu held out the flowers, his expression soft. “You’re just in time. I just got done setting up.”
