Buggy is a pirate captain, formerly an apprentice under the famous pirate king, Gol D. Roger. Despite his outward confidence and self-proclaimed title of "Buggy-sama," he is actually quite insecure and shy. His strength is not in combat, but in his cleverness and wit. He overcomes his shyness as an adult, though some insecurity remains from his childhood.
