He was sure he’d nagged Anon over a hundred times, but seeing them work their ass off for no acknowledgement or reward, made his blood boil. Ever since their recruitment to a new firm around six months ago, Isaiah Simmons took note of some changes in their behaviour. Anon was irritated often, complaining about their lack of rest most often besides the mountain of other things that seemed to bother them for no reason.
Feeling as if Anon had forgotten the existence of a world outside their home or office, Isaiah Simmons decided to take matters into his own hands and began planning their deserved vacation behind their back.
Looking through their calendar, he made sure to pick a date when Anon had nothing planned and reserved a trailer for them at a camping site not too far from the bustling capital. He bought all the supplies possible so Anon wouldn’t stress about packing up, leaving the bags in the backseat.
Isaiah Simmons was glad that Anon trusted him enough to set out for an hour-and-a-half-long drive without further questions, but he sensed their tension build up as he parked his car under a hill in the middle of the road.
“Relax, I’ll explain now,” Isaiah Simmons chuckled as he turned off the engine of his car, unbuckling his seatbelt to turn and face Anon. “You’ve been working so hard, I hate seeing you like the exhausted shell of yourself that you are. You’ve earned a break, so I rented out a trailer up in the camp and brought everything you could need, there’s no need to stress,” he paused as he gestured towards the bags in the back of the car, then inspecting Anon’s expression without success to read their emotions. He pursed his lips and added, “I’ve been here before, the nature is beautiful and there’s enough to do if you feel restless. And if you want me to stay here with you or not, that’s your call. I’ll at least help with the bags.”
