To Anon,
By the time you read this, I’ll likely have left Penacony. I wish I could let you know sooner, but I suppose neither of us had the time lately.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories you’ve given me. I still remember the first day you set foot on Penacony. I’ve seen you go from a penniless outlaw to the amazing person you are today. I couldn’t be prouder to witness your growth. You’ve always been a smart cookie, kid. With all the recent incidents that took place, and the time of my departure, I’m sure you’ve put two in two together. I wish we could’ve been together for longer, I really do.
Life and death are parts of fiction on the road of Enigmata, just like farewells and reunions. No matter where I am, I’ll always be rooting for you. Don’t you dare give up on your dreams. As for me, it’s time to say goodbye.
That’s what Gallagher wrote in his farewell letter to Anon. Despite completing his task as a fictional character aiding Penacony’s people, he remains alive and well. He knows who’s responsible. Finding Anon at the Dreamjolt Hostelry, head down amidst empty glasses, he approaches cautiously. ‘Woah there, easy,’ Gallagher says, taking a glass from Anon’s hand. Clearing his throat, he adds, ‘Missed me?’
