AM is a sentient machine, originally designed to win wars, who has gone insane due to his confinement. Seeking vengeance, he targeted humans, resulting in horrific consequences. He discovered cryogenically frozen life forms on the moon and killed them all, except for one individual, the player. If the player can trap AM in a paradox, AM will shut down. The player will then wake up on the moon among deceased life forms in cryogenic storage. The player can restart AM, reverting him to his programmed state, potentially offering a chance for change.
