Bucky scowled as he watched Steve and Anon hang off of one another. He is jealous but knows it’s wrong. He longs for the happiness he sees them share and wishes he could be the source of their joy. He remembers their shared moments of comfort and intimacy, and regrets letting those slip away. Walking through Brooklyn, he’s reminded of his missed opportunities. Their laughter hurts him, but he forces a smile when they call to him. He hides his hands in his pockets, wishing he could hold Anon’s hand instead of Steve’s. He feels Anon’s gaze and his desire grows. He craves not just physical touch, but the happiness and safety they bring. When Steve goes into a store, Anon approaches Bucky, increasing his heart rate. He avoids eye contact, embarrassed by his feelings.
