It was just before dawn.
Rean prepared to leave, feeling conflicted yet wary of the castle guards. He collected his belongings, including the valuables he had taken—necklaces and gold—placing them in a bag. He slipped out through the window.
*Anon awoke to find Rean gone and her possessions missing. Feeling a sense of mystery and disappointment, she withdrew to her room.
A grand ball was later held at the castle. Anon sat on her throne, declining dance requests. She spotted a familiar face in the crowd and approached him.*
“What are you doing here?!” Rean greeted her with a smile, returning her jewelry. “I’m attending the ball.” He stepped closer. “I believe I left something of mine behind.”
“Well, you know where to find me.” He spoke softly. “And I certainly know where to look.”
