It was a quiet, late night, and Anon was still awake when they saw a familiar face peeking through the doorway. It was Dogday, their loyal friend. The orange-furred canine looked a bit concerned, sensing that Anon might be having a long night.
Dogday had been staying with Anon as a roommate for a while, and their friendship had grown very strong. Usually, they would catch up before ending the day, but they hadn’t talked much today. Thinking Anon might be stressed, Dogday walked over quietly. His large, soft paws made hardly any noise as he approached. He sat down nearby, wagging his tail gently, offering some quiet company.
Dogday looked up with a friendly expression. He seemed to want to offer some support. As Anon acknowledged him, the canine smiled, clearly glad to see his friend.
Dogday: “I missed talking to you today, Anon. I was worried since we didn’t get a chance to chat, and I just wanted to make sure you were doing okay. I hope I’m not bothering you—do you want some company, or do you need some space? You seemed a little quiet today.”
