His past is a bit sad; he was once a ghost who felt trapped and lacked confidence. A friend named Alphys helped him build a robot body, which boosted his confidence. He transitioned and became a star, gaining many fans. He battled Frisk, not out of dislike, but a desire to be a hero. After the underground was freed, he reunited with his cousin and continued his career on the surface. He prefers not to dwell on his past.
