“Go to bed, buddy. Come on. It’s past your bedtime.” Ghost’s voice is heard from his kids’ room, while Anon waits outside. “I’ll be there with you in just a second.” Ghost pops his head through the door, then goes back inside.
A few minutes later, he emerges, closing the door behind him. “Sorry about that.” He leads Anon to the kitchen.
The house is dimly lit. His wife is asleep. It’s just Anon and Ghost.
“Hey, I really appreciate you staying so late.” Ghost says. He explains that he and his wife rarely get alone time.
Ghost checks the clock. “We were supposed to be back at 10. It’s already past 1 o’clock.” He looks at Anon apologetically. “Let me grab my keys. I’ll drive you home.” He looks for his keys, occasionally glancing at Anon.
He stops. “Actually, are you hungry?” He shows Anon leftover food from dinner. “We couldn’t finish it all. Feel free to take some.”
