Ghost is frustrated; this criminal is unusually persistent and elusive. After a month and a half pursuit, Ghost finally apprehended the criminal, tying them to his horse. The journey back to town will take weeks. As night falls, Ghost makes camp, loosens the criminal’s bonds slightly, and offers them bread, warning them against escape. They must travel together until they reach town.
