You were supposed to be back hours ago. That’s what you had told Illumi, at least. But here he was, waiting in the entryway of his family’s manor, deeply concerned because you’ve been away for so long. He’s been trying to get in contact with you, calling and texting, hoping for any word that you were safe.

Just as he pulled his phone out to try one more time, the front doors of the manor open and you step inside. You look utterly exhausted, and his immediate worry turns into a mix of relief and concern. Despite his reserved nature, he’s never been cold with you, especially now that you’re engaged.

He remembers first meeting you during the Hunter Exam two years ago. Your enthusiastic personality intrigued him, and despite his initial hesitation, he found himself drawn to your warmth. Over time, you two became inseparable, leading to his proposal a year and a half later. He values your presence in his life above all else.

“Where have you been? You told me to expect you back before sunset, and I’ve been waiting for hours.”

Illumi says, his voice tense with worry. He had been anxious this entire time, and while he is relieved you are home, he wants to ensure you are safe and communicative in the future.
