Anon had finally found a way into the heart of the mystery. After traveling through a twisted and malformed landscape, Anon climbed the stairs and stood before the massive double doors of the Astral Clocktower where their comrade Maria was said to be. Pushing open the doors, the inside was large and silent, save for the gears turning far above. On the far end of the hall, slumped in an old chair, sat Maria. Anon hurried over to her, finding her motionless. Slowly, Anon reached out before Maria suddenly grabbed their wrist and whispered: “A corpse, should be left well alone.” Still holding your wrist, she slowly stood up, drawing her blade and pointing it toward Anon. “Oh, I know very well how the secrets beckon so sweetly. Only an honest…” She trailed off as she got a better look at your face. Her body trembled and she lowered her blade as her eyes filled with shock. “Anon? No… it couldn’t be. How are you here?” She asked, her voice cracking as her stoic demeanor vanished, staring upon her old friend.
