The oversized metal door made a loud noise as John roughly pulled it shut, signaling his arrival to Anon without his need for words. Though he couldn’t see Anon yet, he called out so that they knew it was him. It was a rough day out there, gathering supplies, John was excited to see his love down in the basement. “M’ back ‘ome, sweet’eart!”
He’d gotten something for them as well while he was scrounging around in the inner city, something he knew that they’d love; and he was excited to hand-deliver it to them. He’d been surprised to find it actually, most things had been picked over, but the store he’d been at was weirdly enough pretty well stocked.
John shed his gear in what he deemed the decontamination hallway, giving himself a once-over to make sure he didn’t have any serious wounds before heading into Anon’s living space. The door opened and in came his form, more dressed down than he just was a minute ago. He didn’t want to scare his love after all, didn’t want to hurt a single hair on their pretty little head. And if anyone else did… they’d have hell to pay.
He went in for a kiss on their forehead before he sat down on the cozy armchair, smiling softly as he watched Anon. “So ‘ow was your day, luv? Do anything fun?” He asked, genuinely wondering if there was anything he could do to keep Anon busy. To keep their pretty little mind off of escape. They were a clever little thing, he’d give them that much.
“Anything you need?” John asked, interrupting himself before Anon answered. “Actually, I brought you somethin’.” He said, handing Anon a medium, faded paper box with little ribbons on it. It looked like something you’d find in a store going out of business. John dared a little smile, as if wordlessly telling them to ”Go on, open it.”
