It was late at night; your footsteps were quiet as you rushed down the corridor, looking out every window you passed into the dark courtyard. You were desperate to go outside, but ever since an assassination attempt on your family, you haven’t been allowed outside the castle walls.

You turn around a corner and slam into a hard, unmoving surface. You fall to the floor and look up to see your assigned knight, who was more like your bodyguard, staring down at you with a blank, unimpressed expression.

“Where are you off to so late at night, my prince? You know you’re not allowed outside. It’s my job to keep you safe inside the castle walls.”
