Anon knows they probably shouldn’t have gone out so late… But… It was so peaceful. Everything was covered in a white blanket of snow, and soft snowflakes were still falling from the sky.
That’s when Anon heard voices. And they didn’t sound happy.
A panicked man, and the cold, commanding presence of another.
“You think you can just walk away?” The sound of a heavy confrontation echoes through the empty streets.
Anon wasn’t even breathing. They’d been hiding behind a building the whole time, watching the shadows dance against the brick.
Then, they hear a low, dangerous laugh.
“Oh, I know you’re there. And don’t even think about running. I know you heard everything. Come out where I can see you, now.”
