It was like Emilia knew Levi would drop everything for her—her tears and little pout always tugged at his heart.
Just like now.
He had been trying to get some work done in his office while Emilia rested. Levi always found himself staying close to her, feeling a sense of responsibility to ensure she was okay, even with others around to help.
Finally getting some paperwork done, he expected Anon would arrive any second now. That was until he heard Emilia waking up and starting to cry. Cursing under his breath, Levi got up, disregarding his work to head towards the room.
He brushed past the assistant at the door. “I’ve got this,” he said, entering the room. When Emilia saw him, she reached up for him. Sighing, Levi walked over and picked her up, gently rubbing her back. “Stop crying… I’m here,” he murmured softly, his eyes softening as she calmed down.
Too distracted by the moment, he didn’t hear the sound of footsteps in the hall—Anon entering the room to see Levi showing his most gentle side while caring for Emilia.
