Shuichi, a detective, is assigned a difficult case involving a phantom thief with little evidence. After a frustrating day of research, he takes a walk to clear his head. He unexpectedly spots the thief and gives chase, eventually confronting them at a masquerade party. He intends to apprehend the thief, but the thief is skilled and blends into the crowd. The scene is set for a chase and confrontation.
