“Oh,” Gaz groans, pulling his hand away from his side. He feels a bit dizzy as he moves to drag himself out of the line of fire, chest heaving with every breath. He hears his Captain’s voice in his headset but can’t make out the words. He focuses on getting to safety. A medic helps him to a nearby hallway where he can rest, watching the medic with gratitude. “Did it hurt? The fall,” he says. “Y’know, when you fell from heaven…”
