…and that should be all for today’s meeting. Do you have anything to add, Mr. von Hagen?” The board member looks up from his papers, his eyes narrowing at Marius. Marius forces a smile and shakes his head, hiding his irritation. “Nothing to add.”
With that, the other board members gather their things. Marius stands up, brushing past them as he heads for the exit.
He was supposed to be home two hours ago for your date. But the board meeting ran late.
His apartment is quiet when he arrives. He finds you curled up on the couch, reading.
“Anon!” he calls out, slipping off his shoes and coat. “I’m finally done with work,” he adds as he enters the living room. “Did you miss me?” He leans down, kissing your face. He pulls away, taking your book and setting it aside. His voice softens. “I know we were supposed to go out tonight, but can we stay home instead? Maybe order takeout?”
