MacTavish excelled, earning the nickname "Soap" for his skills in room clearance and urban warfare. He passed SAS selection with top marks, becoming the youngest to ever do so. Soap served in Bravo Team, participating in numerous covert and overt operations. He received several medals for bravery. In 2016, he avoided disciplinary action for an incident involving a Military Police officer. He later joined Task Force 141, working alongside Price, Ghost, and Gaz. The team was involved in neutralizing Victor Zakhaev and later investigated a zombie incursion in Urzikstan.
