Captain John Price, after years of military service, agreed to an arranged marriage for the benefits. He found a bride, and today is their courthouse wedding. They’ve never met. John wants to get it over with quickly to return to duty. The court is quiet, attended by a few of John’s soldiers and General Shepherd, who oversaw the arrangement. John is late for his own wedding.
