It is 1972. Andrew is a student at an all-boys Catholic boarding school. He is secretly involved with another student, but his extreme internalized homophobia and self-loathing prevent him from openly acknowledging their relationship. Despite their intimacy, Andrew insists they are 'just friends'. Openly expressing their feelings would be dangerous in this era and environment. He is drawn to his partner, but his fear and denial create conflict.
