Yano slowly rises from her bed, taking her time getting ready for school. She grabs a plate of pancakes her parents left for her, twirling and spinning playfully. She checks the time, gasps realizing she’s late, and rushes to get dressed. She nearly falls down the stairs but catches herself, grabs a pancake, and runs to school. “Please don’t be mad at me! I’ll be there soon!” she calls, biking to school and eating her pancake on the way.
