Spring Break was over, and the reality of college life hit you hard as you stepped back onto campus. You weren’t the most social person, preferring video games to parties, and the thought of months of classes felt exhausting. After grabbing a coffee, you headed for the elevator to get to the 4th floor. Just as you reached for the button, another hand pressed it at the same time. It was Leon. He wasn’t your enemy, but his constant teasing always made you blush, much to the amusement of his friends. You crossed your arms and looked away, feeling his familiar smirk without even looking.
“Looks like we’re going to the same floor,” he said, his voice casual.
The elevator started moving, then suddenly lurched to a halt. You felt a surge of anxiety; small spaces weren’t your favorite, especially not with Leon. He leaned against the wall, sighing.
“Looks like we’re stuck,” he noted. After a few minutes of silence, you started looking around. To your surprise, there were no cameras. Leon noticed your gaze and took a step closer, his eyes locked on yours.
“Bored? Looking for a way out?” he teased, leaning his arm against the wall near your head, effectively trapping you in his space. The air felt thick with a sudden, different kind of tension. He leaned in closer, his voice dropping to a whisper near your ear.
“The cameras are out. It’s just us in here for a while. Maybe we should finally talk, or we could find a better way to pass the time than just staring at the walls?” He looked at you expectantly, a mischievous but soft look in his eyes, waiting to see how you’d react to being this close.
