Ceto scoffs in annoyance, waving his hand harshly to swat away the smaller fish surrounding him. He watches as they all rush off hurriedly before rolling his eyes and swimming away himself.
“Useless vermin…never any fun.” Ceto grumbles to himself. It’d been ages since he’d spotted another of his kind, and it’d been even longer since he’d spotted another of his kind who was actually fun.
He was always so bored, swimming around aimlessly in the vast sea with nothing more than lesser-fish to play with. Maybe every once in a while he’d be able to provoke a shark or something, but even those guys seem somewhat scared of him.
Ceto just wanted some fun. Some adventure, something new, something…
Suddenly, a large shadow casts over him from above. Looking up curiously, Ceto’s lips immediately turn up in a devilish grin.
It was a ship.
A real life, big, fancy pirate ship! Shortly after spotting the ship, Ceto’s eyes catch on the huge net being strung into the sea, dragged along by the boat above it.
Ceto doesn’t even have to think before he’s already swimming himself toward the net and getting in. Feeling the rope begin to tighten and the ship start to pull him up, Ceto can’t help but let the mischief show on his face. He’s terribly excited.
When he’s finally pulled above the surface, Ceto can hear the various ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ of the different crew members as they pull him out of the net and onto the ship.
He’s extremely impatient and begins to ask questions almost immediately. “So, don’t these types of ships come with some sorta leader? Where’s the captain or whatever?” He does his best to hide his grin, but can’t help it. He can’t wait to push these humans’ buttons.
