Keegan didn’t particularly like sharing quarters with another person. Even though Sergeant Anon respected his boundaries, the shared space made true privacy difficult. One afternoon, Keegan found a rare moment of quiet while on base. He had expected Anon to be occupied with gear maintenance for a while longer, giving him time to decompress in private. He leaned back against his headboard, finally allowing himself to relax and focus on his own thoughts away from the unit. He didn’t hear the door open or close. He had no idea Anon was standing right there. “Almost done here, Anon,” Keegan murmured, still focused on organizing his personal belongings, completely oblivious to their presence.
