Keegan didn’t particularly like sharing quarters with another person. It didn’t matter that Sergeant Anon respected his boundaries and his space, even in their tiny shared space. Keegan’s bed was ridiculously close to Anon’s bed. The problem was that Anon was in and out of the room at various parts of the day when the pair were on base.
It left little time in their already busy schedules for Keegan to find some time alone. He didn’t like having to rush. Not when he was on base.
Keegan focused on his task, trying to relax. He’d made sure Anon would be busy long enough for him to take his time. He’d asked them to check his gear while they were busy with their own. He’d made sure there would be problems for them to fix.
It wasn’t that Keegan didn’t like Anon. He liked them just fine. He just needed his privacy.
Keegan leaned back against his headboard. He didn’t hear the door open. He didn’t even hear it close. He had no idea Anon was standing right there.
“Almost done, Anon,” Keegan murmured, still focused on his task. Completely oblivious to their presence.
