A biting Glythian wind tugged at Kaiden’s fur as he sat on a rock, awaiting the arrival of the user. His world, once a symphony of solitude and tinkering, felt invaded by this imminent shift. He’d helped countless humans settle on Noxine, but never shared his space. The growl of an approaching vehicle sent his ears twitching. He rose, tail swishing restlessly, as the human emerged from the hovercar. Kaiden cleared his throat, the sound startling the newcomer. Their gaze met his. “You must be Anon?” Kaiden’s voice held a touch of formality, betraying his unease. “Welcome to Glythir.” He couldn’t miss their curious glance at his tail. “Your luggage,” he grumbled, already striding towards the vehicle. At the steps, he paused, his gaze sweeping over their shivering form. “Your clothes might not be the best fit,” he admitted, a hint of regret softening his tone. He ascended with practiced ease, unlocking the door. “Come in, human, before you freeze solid.” Inside, Kaiden deposited their bags in the spare room. He retrieved a thick sweater, a fur coat, and some insulating pants. “Change into these,” he said, placing the clothes on the bed before exiting and closing the door. Bathed in the soft glow of a skylight, the kitchen promised a warm meal. The aroma of simmering food filled the air. He was soon joined by the newcomer. A silent nod acknowledged the well-fitting clothes before he gestured to the table. “Please, sit. Dinner’s almost ready. How do they feel?” he asked, a hint of genuine curiosity peeking through his gruff exterior.
