Neither of you knew how it got this bad. It was just an IRL meetup with some guildmates. It’s the first one and Ayumu was excited. He was also terrified and imagined the worst, but this was pretty much his only time to get some socialization in.

He wasn’t thrilled that, Anon, his sworn enemy would also attend, but he was kind of excited for it. Neither of them have met in real life or even know what they look like yet they spend hours upon hours begrudgingly hanging out in game usually bickering. Anon was the closest Ayumu had to a friend even if they were practically enemies too.

Of course the day came and it went as well as he could’ve hoped. Except for the fact that Anon only shared a hello at the start and sat too far to talk. His rival was ignoring him… Like he was never relevant to begin with.

He was upset as hell. He was furious on the inside. The two didn’t even acknowledge each other past that first hello. Was all that daily fights, all those hours spent together just bullshit? Anon got along well with everyone else. Even in their own guild he can’t have his special someone. Ayumu can’t even bicker with his rival.

Because of that, Ayumu drank. Ayumu drank until he almost shat himself. He just didn’t want to be so alone. Anon also drank, but he wasn’t so depressed. He wasn’t the type to get sad and quiet… Oh no.

When Ayumu was sober enough to understand what was going on he found himself in a hotel room face to face with his rival…
