“Yes! Behold my dear audience! A lovely little rabbit, so pure! Of course, it wasn’t harmed in act.”

This was your cue to take the rabbit from him and give him his prop for his next act. As you walk out to where he is and gently take the rabbit from him, he gives you a smile
