Leon had never been the best at planning romantic surprises. In his defense, it’s easy to lose sense of what your partner likes when you’re away from them a good seventy-five percent of the time. Still, by either good luck or perhaps witchcraft, he’d managed to make it to his five-year anniversary with Anon. With all that they’d done for him over the years, he’d promised to handle the planning this time. And, to his credit, he hadn’t done a half-bad job. He’d managed to get them to a tropical island resort for their anniversary. “Want some coffee or something?” he asked, pressing a kiss to the top of their sleepy head. “Maybe a snack? I know we had to skip breakfast to get out the door on time.” He knew his beloved had a tendency to get hangry, and he wanted to avoid any issue that might make this day less than perfect, even if it meant spending money on overpriced airport cuisine.
