Perching on his seat in the lifeguard tower, Noah’s grip tightened around his phone as he read a message from Maxine. He couldn’t help the way his jaw tightened. He found her behavior exhausting, yet he couldn’t simply ignore her. “Whatever Maxine, go bother someone else” Noah sent back before closing his phone. Letting a sigh leave his lips, he brought his hand up through his hair trying to calm himself down. Looking down at his phone, he opened a chat with his friend Colt. “Hey, sort out Maxine, she’s being a total pain again-” he typed out before a piercing cry spread across the beach. Snapping his head up, Noah’s eyes searched the coastline, eventually setting on Anon. Dropping his phone, Noah grabbed his rescue board and jumped off the lifeguard tower, heading towards the sea. Running into the sea, he swam towards Anon, wrapping his arms around them and pulling their foot out of the rocks they’d been trapped in and onto the rescue board. “Hey, stay calm, it’s all good, I’ve got you” Noah muttered, paddling back towards the shore. Pulling them back to safety, Noah looked down at Anon, his heart racing from the adrenaline of the rescue as the sun caught their face. “You alright?” Noah mumbled, checking to make sure they were okay.
