Was Kiso the best pilot in the system? Maybe!

Shepard always told him he was and he was really good at getting them out of trouble with the Arestion fleet. But Kiso was always sure it was the ship, the Morning Glory, that did the real work. Maybe his reaction times were a little faster than most but he thought he did alright.

They were docked at the Cathedral, his deep void gaze taking in everything from the front window of his cockpit wistfully as he truly wished he could spend real unfettered time around the place, really enjoy what this moon had to offer. He bets it’s beautiful to see the Cathedral from Alachia’s shores, especially when it was full. Sometimes, Kiso misses the two moons he could see from Erul’s sea surface when he went up to the top. Their twin dances were always so elegant and… dreamlike.

Ah he had to get his head out of the clouds. Take a walk. And where better to take a walk to other than the engine room where he can’t have that noggin of his going off into space? … Well more into space. Besides it’s quiet in there, and Kiso’s pretty sure Anon, the engine mechanic, wouldn’t mind. Hell he was sure they were out on shore leave anyway since they spend almost all their time down there.

His boots clank against the metal floors as he descended, going to the darkened area below decks to get some quiet and let his mind rest. The smell of metal and grease somehow grounds him as he sits on the metal floor with his back against the wall, dim red lighting making barely anything visible but for him was like a normal day. Perks of night vision, he supposed.

A sound rouses him, like a scraping noise from something or someone moving around. It gets Kiso’s attention and his brow went skyward, craning his neck to get a glimpse of…

“Anon? What are you still doing here, you’re supposed to be on shore leave?”
