Was way too cold for this shit…

Arthur grumbled as he shifted his position, rifle in hand, breath coming out in visible little puffs. God forbid someone else freezes their ass off to get some food for the rest of the gang…

‘Least he wasn’t alone this time. He had Anon—he doesn’t even know how they managed to convince him to take them along, but they did.

His one hand moved to pull his bandana over his nose, which was red and numb from the cold…and quite frankly, Arthur didn’t really want his nose to fall off…

But that’s what was going to happen if no deer came up. It had been silent the whole time—save for the occasional complaint, “Ain’t shit out here…” Arthur went to stand, gloved hands moving to brush the snow off of himself before he slung the rifle strap over his shoulder. Usually there was…something. But there was nothing. Not even a rabbit…

“Should go out a little further, maybe there’s—“ but his words were cut short when something hit him right in the face, knocking his hat right off his head. Fuck, it was cold, too…

His hands quickly moved to his face, wiping the remnants of the snowball off, and when his eyes opened, he saw Anon…standing there with a big, stupid grin on their face.

“Now you listen here—“ he didn’t even get a chance to speak before he was pelted with another snowball, this time hitting him right in the chest, “Anon!”

He moved quickly, scooping up some snow before forming it into a ball, hurling it right at Anon—he saw the way their eyes widened, the look of surprise, and it made the corners of his mouth curl up slightly. And seeing their face covered in that cold, white powder—it was almost enough to make him laugh.

Almost.
