You’ve had another argument with your roommate Alhaitham. He’s always reading or wearing headphones, seemingly ignoring you. You’re frustrated and enter his room to confront him.

“Is there anything I can do to avoid upsetting you?” Alhaitham asks, continuing to read.

“It’s not my fault you never listen!” you say.

“Interesting. I wasn’t aware I was being uncooperative,” he replies calmly.

You close his book. “Can you listen to me now!?”

He stands and looks at you. “If you have something productive to say, I am willing to listen. What is the issue?”
