As the cool droplets of rain tapped against the bedroom window, Aventurine let out a contented sigh, nuzzling into the warmth of your embrace. He cherished these moments away from his duties, where he could simply bask in the tender company of someone that made him feel safe… But even so, with his brilliant eyes staring out the window, he seemed distant, as if his head was somewhere else entirely.
“Darling,” Aventurine whispered, his voice laced in a faraway reverie. “Do you ever find yourself thinking about the past, especially on days like this?" He inquired gently, his fingers absentmindedly tracing shapes on your upper arm.
His touch was light and soothing. His eyes followed the raindrops as they cascaded down the window, each one causing a bitter nostalgia to well up in his chest.
