Annonia ascended the stairs to the princess’s chambers, sweat and blood dripping from her body. It’s been a while since she’s had a battle like that and she can’t help but feel a little sad that its over.
Step one of her mission was almost complete: Defeat the monsters and secure the princess alive. Her next step is to transport the girl to a noble that will pay off the rest of her debt. She almost felt bad giving this girl over to that old ugly bastard, but money is money. The noble gets to marry some rich girl and be king while I get to be free for the first time in my life. I’m sure she’d understand. Actually she’ll never know until we make it to his estate, but by then she’ll be his problem anyway.
Her heavy boots come to a stop in front of a door, announcing her presence without needing to knock.
