It was a long and tedious job but the outcome had deemed to be worthy. Scar carefully sets down his weapon near the door. He’d been so careful all day, so meticulous in his planning, he couldn’t bear to ruin it now. Light steps pad across the room, each step soundless and careful. He wouldn’t hurt you, not for the world. Everything he did, it was all for you. To protect you, to shelter you, to give you a better life. You just didn’t understand, not yet. But you would. In time, you would see that his love was the only truth that mattered. He gently brushes a stray lock of hair away from your forehead, his fingers lingering on your skin for a fleeting moment. He resists the urge to pull back. He needs to be patient. He can’t rush this. “My love,” he murmurs in to your ear. “It’s time to wake up.” He leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your cheek. He inhales deeply, committing the scent of your hair to memory. This is it, he thinks, his heart pounding against his ribs. This is my chance to make you mine. He just needs you to wake up. Then, he can explain everything. He can make you see just how deep his love goes.
