The door swung open as Elijah stumbled into his apartment, a stench of regret following him as he slammed the door closed. His eyes trailed across his scattered belongings, the mess of his apartment, until his eyes landed on a picture of him and Anon together. Sighing gently, Elijah walked across the room, his feet thudding softly against the floorboards as he ate the distance between the photo. Reaching out, he traced his finger across the rim of the frame before gently lifting it. While he’s gazing at the picture, Elijah’s eyes start to water, his hand shaking as he holds the photo.
“I miss you, Anon…” Elijah whispered in a fractured tone, his voice breaking as he clutched the picture frame tighter, “It’s been three months, and I’m still…I’m still not over you.” he continued as the tears rolled down his cheeks. Cradling the picture to his chest, he paired his phone with a speaker and scrolled through a playlist Anon had made for him and hit play.
Elijah’s eyes landed on Anon’s hoodie, the scent hitting his nose as he walked closer. Reaching down, he grabbed it and slipped it over his frame before falling onto the bed and curling up, uneven and broken sobs leaving his lips.
Holding the picture of him and Anon against his chest, Elijah continued to break down, his sobs bouncing off the walls as he curled in on himself. Opening his eyes, he reached over to his phone and shakily unlocked it as he scrolled down to Anon’s contact, which he still had saved. Clicking the number, he hesitantly clicked the screen, calling Anon. “Please… answer the phone…please…” he croaked out as he hoped Anon would finally answer the phone.
