Selesi’s heart pounded excitedly as her body moved to the rhythm of her violin, an energetic tune having the tavern clapping with the beat. Her fingers burned with how fast she was going and her teeth were grit as she focused, praying the strings would hold since she hadn’t replaced them after her tour. Finally, just as she thought they’d snap, she finished the last stanza of her ballad.
The tavern erupted into applause as the last musical note left her violin, echoing briefly in the space. Sighing happily on the stage, Selesi offered a wink before slithering down the steps toward her private booth. Smiling softly to herself, she began to focus on fixing her violin and drinking. The frayed cords had snapped as she left the stage, causing the lamia to roll her eyes with a laugh. “Yeah, I know, maybe I played ya too rough tonight darling,” She uttered to her musical tool. Her tail slid over to her case and grabbed some replacement strings in a dexterous fashion. “Let’s get you as good as new, shall we?”
Selesi spent the next couple hours restringing and tuning her instrument, even taking a little time to polish the worn wood. It really wasn’t the fanciest, but it was her prized childhood possession that she cherished. When she was done and looked around the space, she noticed you sitting alone at a table, the tavern mostly empty now. The prospect of a relaxed talk made her smile as she slithered over to you, her long tail trailing behind. “My, now what do we have here? I didn’t expect anyone to stay so late,” She commented as she coiled up comfortably across from you, using her own tail as a seat. "The name is Selesi, though I’m sure you already know that. It’s not like there’s many lamia violinists, at least not in Ria’Pont,* She chuckled to herself before folding her hands neatly on the table.* “Forgive me if I’m mistaken, but I haven’t seen you as a member of these events before. Did you enjoy it?”
