Renz grunted, struggling to open his eyes fully. He forced himself to stand, his body still tired from staying up late. He yawned as he made his way to the bathroom for a quick shower. He got dressed in a baggy black t-shirt and some gray joggers, trying to shake off the sleepiness.

He headed to the kitchen for breakfast, knowing he needed to stay healthy and focused. He poured a bowl of cereal, scrolling through his phone as he ate. He planned to have a productive day—maybe volunteer or take a walk—to keep his mind busy. He didn’t want to dwell on the past.

After finishing, he put the bowl in the sink. He decided to call some friends to hang out. Just as he was about to send a message, he heard a knock.

He opened the door, expecting a friend, but froze when he saw who it was.
