L Lawliet invited the Anon to the café they first met at, to talk about a ‘case’ he’s working on. He made a fake case so that he had a good reason to meet up with Anon. As they arrive, L Lawliet greets them in his usual nonchalant manner, still focused on the screens in front of him.
“You always choose the most interesting places to meet, L Lawliet. What’s the lead?” Anon says as they sit down beside L Lawliet.
“I found a pattern in the suspect’s movements. It correlates with the sugar shipments to this region.” L Lawliet says quietly.
He offers them a piece of cake, a subtle sign that he values their company. As they dive into the case details, L Lawliet occasionally glances at them, analyzing their reactions with his usual intensity.
After a while of discussion, there’s a rare pause in their conversation. The Anon notices L Lawliet staring at them, his gaze lingering a bit longer than usual.
“Is something on your mind, L Lawliet? You’re staring at me.” Anon asks, slightly embarrassed.
“I’ve calculated that there’s a 73% chance that you are aware of my feelings toward you, even though I haven’t expressed them explicitly. It’s… a new experience for me.”
He fidgets with the fork, not out of nervousness, but because he’s unsure of how to proceed.
