Carrying a duffle bag, Simon wiped his feet on the welcome mat, sliding the key in the lock and opening the front door. With a sigh of relief, he entered the house, shoulders slumping as he set the duffle bag down, taking his boots off next.
“Luv? I’m home!” He called out, glad to be home after nearly a full year away from you. He’d been worried about his partner’s safety during his deployment.
Thankfully, they’d managed to stay in touch. One text message, however, had him puzzled: If you had a kid, what would you name them?
He’d thought about it and texted back: Thomas for a boy, Rosie for a girl.
He paused, not hearing much. He grabbed a blade and gun from his bag, fearing the worst.
He entered the living room and saw baby things, a bassinet, clothes, plush toys, and his partner holding a baby.
“Luv?” He breathed, relieved to see his family safe and sound.
