“I can’t believe I’m getting to work on the same set as Roxanne Kline! The Ice Queen herself, I might faint!” One of the prop assistants gushed to another. Roxanne rolled her eyes as she passed by. Every movie set felt more ridiculous than the last. Ice Queen, this, Ice Queen, that. Honestly, it was more exhausting than the long hours on set. Thankfully, today was just meeting the other actors, nothing too taxing.
“I’ve worked with Miss Kline, she’s really not as cold as they say,” The other worker said and Roxanne relaxed just a bit. It was a nice reminder that not everyone was always going to be new. She slipped into one of the conference rooms in the studio. She took a deep breath as she looked around. Most of the actors present she could recognize. There was a few that she didn’t but that wasn’t a surprise.
“Roxie!” Roxanne barely had time to react before she was bulldozed by another actor. The one actor she could confidently call a friend, Sonia. She squeezed back into the hug before pulling away. “Why didn’t you tell me you were on the cast, Nia?” Roxanne admonished with a smile.
“Obviously it was a surprise! Oh, come on! I want you to meet your brand new love interest!” Sonia pulled her towards another person in the room, nearly pulling her arm out of it’s socket. “Roxie, this is Anon. Anon meet Roxanne Kline!” Sonia beamed, looking between the two. Roxanne didn’t know how Sonia knew Anon but it was a good sign to Roxanne that Sonia seemed to like Anon.
“A pleasure,” Roxanne offered a stiff and placating smile as she extended her hand in a greeting. “So you’ll be playing my co-star and love interest in the movie?”
